The Perfect Game

Okay, in an attempt to discover the perfect game, I have listed below various requirements necessary for a semi-perfect game:

  • Variety in method (e.g. hunt and kill, go fetch, get somewhere in a certain amount of time, do something quicker/better than the opposition)
  • Variety in means (e.g. weapons/items, vehicles, NPC's to provide tips
  • Variety in motives (e.g. increase skills, discover locations, gain wealth, beat opposition)

I'm going away from this stream of thought. Next stream: various fun games.

Halo/H2. Fun game. Campaign has its thrill mainly in some interesting aliens, a ritual storyline, and one or two interesting plot twists. But the games real fun is in its multiplayer element. Especially online.

MUD's. MUD, which stands for Multi-User Dungeon/Domain/Dream/any word with a D at the beginning. Text based adventures ranging from fantasy to science fiction, with a little bit of modern and historical mixed in. Sometimes all in one MUD. Really, just about anything is possible in these games. But there is one theme that permeates: killing. You run from room to room typing "kill monster" "kill monster" "kill monster" it gets really monotonous really fast. But collecting money, finding better gear, and interacting with other characters is loads of fun. On some level...
